Congressman Sarbanes Visits UMB for Health Care Reform Forum

As part of the new Campus Center Housewarming Week events, the University of Maryland, Baltimore hosted Congressman John Sarbanes, who spoke on the current health care reform under consideration in Washington, D.C. The event, held on September 3, 2009, was well attended by hundreds of university students, faculty, and staff.
After his prepared speech, he answered selected questions that were submitted in writing prior to the event and noted that he favored a public option as part of a comprehensive reform of the health care system.
He was followed by a panel of faculty members who offered presentations and a discussion on health care reform.
